Verna J. Hardin, 65, of Peoria Heights, passed away at 11:58 p.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2010, at Bella Vista Care Center in Peoria Heights.
She was born in Peoria on October 30, 1944, a daughter of Edward A. and Relva L. (Canada) Baer. She married James C. Hardin on October 30, 1964 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1990 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
Verna is survived by her daughter, Lenora Hardin of Peoria Heights; granddaughter, Sheyla Hardin of Peoria Heights; sisters, Wanda Dickerson and Donna LaFeber, both of Peoria Heights; brother, Charles Baer of Peoria; and several nieces and nephews.
She was formerly a beautician in the Peoria area and was an active bowler in several Peoria area leagues.
Verna loved Country music, especially Conway Twitty, and enjoyed spending a great deal of time with her granddaughter, Sheyla.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at Clary Funeral Home, 428 West McClure Avenue, in Peoria.
Memorial contributions may be made in Verna’s memory to Bella Vista Care Center in Peoria Heights.

Lenora, I just happened to see this in the online paper and and want to saend my condolences to you . I had known your Mom & Dad since the late sixty's and am so sorry that this has happened to you. You mother was a great person..
